4 A Hay and Cattle
4 A Cattle and Hay is a 5th generation ranch that was established in the 1800’s. Kenneth Arnold has always had a love and appreciation for the land. He shares his knowledge of caring for the land with his children and grandchildren as they begin to take over the family farm.
Mr. Arnold implements numerous BMPs including fencing off sensitive wetland areas and ditches. He fertilizes on a scheduled program that maximizes water quality by eliminating any nutrient runoff. By utilizing culverts and boards to settle back nutrients from the soil the ranch has managed zero net runoff for over 20 years.
In addition to being an excellent steward of the land, Mr. Arnold gives back to his community by volunteering as a livestock judge for local youth and is active in his local Cattlemen’s group. He is passionate about teaching the next generation about the importance of agriculture.
