Mac Finlayson, E.H. Finlayson and Son Farm
The Finlayson family has been farming since the early 1800’s. Mac Finlayson and his family run E.H. Finlayson and Son Farm, raising beef cattle and produce timber. Along with his wife Mary, son Jay, daughter Anna and her husband Whitney, the Finlayson family implements BMPs to make sure they are leaving their land better than they found it. Mac utilizes rotational grazing, cross fencing, cover crops, and he has cut his nitrogen use in half through planting clover every year.
Serving as the Chairman of the Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation board of supervisors and being a member of the Florida Cattlemen’s association where he previously served as a state director for Jefferson County, Mac is active in his community. Mac and Mary are also active members of the First United Methodist Church in Monticello.
