Richard Hagstrom Ferneries
Richard Hagstrom has been in the business of growing ferns and cut foliage for 45 years. This 200-acre fernery has made a great effort to be stewards of the land by implementing Best Management Practices. Hagstrom follows strict fertilizing and pesticide guidelines as outlined by the BMP program to minimize negative environmental impact. To adhere to the highest standards of environmental stewardship, Richard Hagstrom Ferneries utilizes overhead irrigation systems and well meters to ensure responsible water usage. Furthermore, Hagstrom has recently updated 35 acres of his operation to a more efficient wobbler system. This system allows for even more precise water use efficiency to minimize water waste. In addition to the previously mentioned practices, Richard has also reserved the perimeter of his operation for undisturbed, natural habitat.
Richard Hagstrom Ferneries is a 2023 Volusia County CARES recipient.
