Tyler Shadrick, Shadrick Farms
Tyler Shadrick and his wife, Emily, started their organic blueberry farm in 2019. As a USDA certified organic blueberry farm, they use a holistic approach to farming and believe it is important to leave the land better than they found it. The couple wants future generations, like their daughter Avie, to enjoy the earth’s natural resources and the way to make that possible is to implement best management practices. Tyler and Emily utilize drip irrigation, a weather station, precision fertilizer application, cover crops and promote wildlife with bird houses and buffer zones around their fields.
Tyler and Emily both are involved in the Florida Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Leadership Group with Tyler serving as the President. Tyler is also a supervisor on the Madison County Soil and Water Conservation Board.
